In August 2024, LundHalsey, in partnership with Fusion Q Technology, delivered 20 advanced air traffic control (ATC) consoles to the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), marking a significant milestone in providing world-class aviation solutions.
The project began with a virtual reality (VR) demonstration, offering QCAA officials an interactive preview of the proposed design. Following approval, a fully operational prototype was reviewed at LundHalsey’s UK headquarters. The final consoles exceeded expectations, combining ergonomic excellence and advanced technology to enhance operational efficiency and controller performance.
Each Area Command console features motorised height-adjustable work surfaces, equipment wedges, and adjustable VCCS touchscreens for flexibility during extended shifts. Additional highlights include integrated loudspeakers, customisable task lighting, and ventilated front panels for secure equipment cooling and streamlined maintenance. The consoles also reflect QCAA’s high standards with bespoke 3D gloss branding.
Ahmed Al-Eshaq, Director of the Air Navigation Department at QCAA, commented:
“The project exceeded our expectations in both design and quality. Since installation, our controllers have experienced noticeable improvements in comfort and efficiency.”Charles Evett, CEO of LundHalsey, remarked:
“This delivery is a testament to our commitment to providing solutions that enhance performance in mission-critical environments.”
This installation marks a major step forward in enhancing QCAA’s operational capabilities, with LundHalsey and Fusion Q Technology continuing to deliver exceptional aviation solutions for Qatar and beyond.
